About World Wrestling Entertainment
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (doing business as WWE, Inc.) is an American publicly traded, privately controlled entertainment company dealing primarily in professional wrestling, with major revenue sources also coming from film, music, product licensing, and direct product sales. It is currently the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world, reaching 13 million viewers in the U.S. and broadcasting its shows in 30 languages to more than 145 countries. Like other professional wrestling promotions, WWE's shows do not feature legitimate sporting contests. Instead, its programs feature storyline-driven combat sport matches with predetermined outcomes and fighting maneuvers that are worked, all promoted as legitimate bouts.
Vince McMahon is the majority owner, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company. Together with his wife Linda McMahon, and their children Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Levesque (WWE Executive Vice President of Creative), the McMahons hold approximately 70% of WWE's economic interest and 96% of the voting power in the company. The company's headquarters are located in Stamford, Connecticut with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, London, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore, and Mumbai.
WWE holds an extensive library of videos, representing a significant portion of the visual history of professional wrestling. The company began as the Capitol Wrestling Corporation in 1952, which promoted under the banner of the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) and later the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). In 1982, it was sold to the same family's Titan Sports company, which later changed its name to World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, before becoming World Wrestling Entertainment in 2002, and simplified to WWE in 2011.

Summery Of WWE History

Pro Wrestling is a world famous entertaining sport. Why do we call this sports Entertainment. Reason is their main aim is to make audience entertain rather than make some one winner or looser. That is the difference between Olympic wrestling and this type of wrestling. Because of entertaining methods and filmography wrestling is one of top title that people discuss and no 1 profitable game. If we talk about the beginning of this Pro Wrestling we recognize this as a item in a gypsies circus. At that time it was a just usual sport which held in a outdoor stadium.During the 1920-1940 this sport spread in America as single companies. NWA which stands for National Wrestling Association which started in 1948 was a example for that. But they had branches all over the America. After 1950 when television was invented wrestling was a part of those people's life style. This is the Era now we called Golden Era. Meanwhile instead of normal wrestlers colourful , Gimmick Characters with a master plan to win approach to the ring. Gorgeous George was the starter of that. He was able to turn WWE Champion to a Film Star. Because of that besides the fight there was a storyline around them. After that there were people who developed it. Such as Hulk Hogan ( His Real American Hero Character, tearing his shirt when he entered to the arena, reaction after he win a match), The Undertaker (Character of Undertaker , Character of Bike men , Theme Song) and Stone Cold Steve Austin (Drinking Beer , Breaking Law , Struggling with authorities ). Shawn Micheals (Breaking Law , Struggling with authorities , Sexy Dance , and he was one of famous in 90 century )
In 1979 World Wide Wrestling Federation/WWWF (later WWF, currently WWE) change the path of wrestling in my point of view. After 1980 wrestling become world famous. We can name Hulk Hogan as the main reason. These became popular among the children and teenagers. After that wrestling became a part of Hollywood. Wrestling superstar took place in Hollywood movies and Hollywood stars came to wrestling events. At this time WWF introduce special events like Wrestlemania , Survivor Series and Royal Rumble. That was able to give more publicity to wrestling. In 1980s Wrestling Boom well known as Hulk Hogan Era new company called WCW/World Championship Wrestling became more popular than WWF. WWF stars going to WCW and introducing new stars were some of reasons for that. Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Goldberg, Booker T are new superstar who were introduced by WCW. But in 1998 chracters like Stone Cold, Mr. Mcmahon who were reason to begin of Attitude Era WWF came back to their position. And in 2000 they bought WCW. In 2001 WWF change their name to WWE/World Wrestling Entertainments. In Attitude Era incident called Monday Night Wars show us a new dimension in wrestling. At that time WWF's RAW programme , WCW's NITRO programme were telecast on same time in Monday Night. Compition they had to get more viewers were known as Monday Night Wars.
In present time WWE is the number one in pro wrestling. WWE is full filed with senior stars like Shawn Micheals,Triple H, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, John Cena, Randy Orton and new stars like The Miz, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder. If we discussed about other companies TNA which stands for IMPACT Wrestling, Ring Of Honor are companies that they have considerable fans fan base.
